Curonian spit - unique peninsula in the Baltic sea with sand dunes, seaboard forest, white sanded beaches and old ethnographic villages, which comes very much alive in the summer, but other times a very peaceful, windy place to be in the nature and still so close to the civilisation. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. German writer Thomas Mann kept a cottage there, which now is a museum. You can get to Curonian spit by inland ferries, who go every day and cost (both ways) 0,80 for a passenger and 11,05 euro for the car.
